1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They are widely used to make websites work, remember preferences, and provide information to website owners.
2. Cookies we use
BinPing uses exactly two cookies, both classified as "strictly necessary" under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR):
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| session | Authenticates your login session | Browser session | Strictly necessary |
| preferences | Stores your reminder timing and display preferences | 12 months | Strictly necessary |
Neither cookie contains personal data beyond a randomly generated session identifier. Neither is shared with any third party.
3. Cookies we do not use
For clarity, BinPing does not use:
- Advertising or marketing cookies — we do not run ads or participate in ad networks.
- Analytics cookies — our analytics provider (Plausible) is fully cookieless.
- Social media cookies — we do not embed social media widgets that set cookies.
- Third-party cookies of any kind — no external service sets cookies through our site.
4. Third-party services
The following third-party services are used on binping.uk. None of them set cookies:
- Plausible Analytics — cookieless, privacy-focused web analytics. No personal data is collected or stored.
- Google Fonts — loaded via stylesheet link. Google states these requests are not used for tracking.
- Stripe — used only on the payment page for SMS subscriptions. Stripe may set its own cookies on its hosted payment form, subject to Stripe's own cookie policy.
5. How to manage cookies
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. However, if you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to log in to your BinPing account.
Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are set
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all sites
- Set preferences for first-party vs third-party cookies
6. Do Not Track
BinPing respects the Do Not Track (DNT) browser signal. Since we do not perform any tracking, this signal has no practical effect on our service — there is nothing to disable.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add new cookies or change our approach to tracking, we will update this page and notify active users by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
8. Contact
